To post something like this.  Yes, I know.  It’s late again.  This actually would have been up yesterday had I not made sure that I’d hit the “publish” button properly.  I was informed thismorning, I had not.  And I just didn’t get around to it until now.  My bad   Regularly scheduled program will return on Monday.

That aside.

As some of you may recall, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in the summer of 2010.  It was in it’s later stages, and it was a difficult time for everyone involved.  We have been more than blessed that she went into remission, and all the pain and agony during the chemo was worthwhile.  More and more people are surviving cancer these days, but it’s still a difficult process and many people still never truly recover from it.

Mom was very fortunate to have her family with her along the way, her husband by her side at every step of her journey.

But there are many women dealing with this who are alone in their endevours.  Because of this, my mother has opted to begin work on a small group she is dubbing “Boobie Buddies”.  Yes, I laughed when I heard it at first, my mentality taking on that of someone in elementary school, but when she explained it to me, I couldn’t help but smile.

It is a group of women who have been through the process already.  Who made it through, and now want to see other women get through this trying time.  As I mentioned before, there are many women who go through this all alone.  This group of women want to help with that.  Be there for these other women, and help them through their process.  Everyone needs support, and who better than someone who has already been there?

I’m so very proud of my mother.
